During the last 15 years, I designed for clients in Cambridge who specialise in a variety of fields: high-tech product development, technology consultancy, emerging technologies, marketing research, international events, and hotel businesses.
  • IDTechEx Ltd. Cambridge | Mar 2008 – Sep 2020
  • Regions Ltd. Cambridge | Aug 2006 – Feb 2008
  • Alterix Ltd. Cambridge | Apr 2005 – Jul 2006
  • Scientific Generics, Sagentia, PatAnalyse, Studio 12, Inforion | Apr 2004 – May 2005
Some of these businesses still exist and prosper, while others have changed ownership.
Over recent years, my primary client was IDTechEx Ltd — a Cambridge-based high-tech consulting company carrying out research on emerging technologies and hosting international conferences and tradeshows.
  • Hundreds of projects I had delivered to IDTechEx helped drive rapid growth: The IDTechEx brand became widely recognised, and it emerged as a serious player among the other prominent consultancies in its sector.
  • Every year’s event attracted more attendees and exhibitors, growing to an average of 2,500 attendees. My graphic designs impacted promotion before the yearly events and the visual atmosphere during the forums.
  • Sales of marketing reports relied heavily on clean layouts, infographics, and high-quality images for the digital and printed versions of report booklets and catalogues.
Professional Education
I have a Bachelor of Science degree with Qualified Teacher Status. After graduation, I worked as a Maths teacher in the secondary school for five years before diving into web design full time. My technical degree helps keep me up-to-date on the latest tricks my clients will appreciate – especially when it comes to Web Design in WordPress.
During my many years in graphic design, I succeeded in:
  • developing and maintaining a recognisable image for each of our clients
  • designing the look and feel of many corporate and event websites
  • improving the user experience (UX) and accessibility of client’s websites by developing a minimal but efficient user interface (UI)
  • been consistent in maintaining the corporate style and branding across all of the client’s printed and digital products and promotional materials
I designed various promotional materials for annual events and research reports:
  • a wide range of business and marketing resources such as brochures, flyers, corporate PowerPoint slides, websites, HTML emails, and videos
  • exhibition stands, conference banners, large panels, booths and signboards for international conferences, forums and masterclasses.
  • multilingual promotional materials for customers in the EU and APAC regions
I completed projects from concept to completion, which taught me to deal with:
  • routine maintenance or bespoke tasks
  • working on a tight deadline or enduring a long-lasting development project
  • work on multiple projects at the same time, prioritising deadlines
  • making decisions when a client is struggling to make up their mind
WebWhim is one of the top 2% web design agencies around Cambridge, judged by how quickly their websites are loaded.
